HUDA & ADIL'S WEDDING CELEBRATION There are weddings, and then there are celebrations that unfold like a story with three glorious chapters. Huda and Adil's wedding was the latter — a three-day journey around Lake Garda that moved from a laid-back pizza night under the string lights, to a riot of turmeric and mirrored embroidery on the hillside, to a nikkah on a private island and a reception at one of the lake's most elegant villas. Here's how it all came together. Day One: A Pizza Party to Kick Things Off No fireworks, no formalities — just good pizza, good music, and a garden full of family and friends meeting for the first time. It's the kind of welcome dinner that sets the tone for everything to come: relaxed, warm, and unmistakably joyful. Barefoot dancing on the stage, an umbrella passed around as a prop, sequins catching the last of the evening light — this was the night everyone let their hair down before the real festivities began. As the evening wore on, the dance floor only got livelier, with guests twirling in glittering fringe beneath the string lights and olive trees. Day Two: Haldi & Mehendi — Turmeric, Henna, and Laughter If Day One was the warm-up, Day Two was the heart of the celebration. The haldi ceremony brought everyone together on a hillside overlooking the lake, where family members took turns dabbing turmeric paste onto Adil and Huda's faces — a tradition meant to bless the couple with radiance and good fortune before their wedding day. The laughter, the golden light, the flowers spilling across the lawn: it was pure, unfiltered happiness. Once the turmeric was washed away, the mehendi celebration took over, with intricate henna winding up Huda's hands and arms, and the whole bridal party dressed in shimmering mirror-work and gold. Traditional Indian dishes filled the tables throughout the day, courtesy of Bhagya Ristorante Indiano, whose fragrant curries and classics kept everyone fuelled between dances.​ Day Three: Nikkah on Isola del Garda & A Reception to Remember​ For the big day itself, the couple exchanged vows in a nikkah ceremony on Isola del Garda — the private island in the middle of the lake, reachable only by boat. Guests were ferried across on a larger boat, while Huda and Adil crossed separately on a smaller one, arriving to say "I do" surrounded by water on every side. The celebration then moved to Colago Luxury Villas for the reception, where a cloud of coloured smoke welcomed the newlyweds onto a floral-lined stage overlooking the lake — a dramatic, joy-filled entrance guests still talk about.
